On October 24, saxophonist and composer Vilnis Kundrāts will celebrate his 65th birthday at the jazz club MASA by performing a new quartet program titled "Laimīgā ballīte" (Lucky Party).
The program features jazz compositions dedicated to significant people in Vilnis’s life. As the artist himself puts it: "I composed and dedicated these pieces to musicians I have played with and to beautiful women with whom I shared an emotional bond."
Vilnis Kundrāts is a well-known figure in the Latvian jazz scene, with a musical career spanning several decades. His original compositions are also featured on the album "Anthropology", which combines jazz classics with works he has created over the years.
