On October 2 at the MASA jazz club, a sextet led by Finnish trombonist, composer and conductor Aarni Häkkinen, will perform a concert program in the style of swing and hard bop with a Baltic groove.
Aarni Häkkinen is one of the new generation of Finnish jazz musicians, whose playing and compositions are characterized by dynamics and bright individuality. This evening, the interplay of three wind instruments and a rhythm section will create a modern Nordic and Baltic jazz sound in the hard bop tradition. The program will feature a strong groove, expressive melodies, blues influences, energetic improvisations and free interplay between the musicians.
