Roman Škadra is a Slovak-born artist based in Berlin. The central theme of this interdisciplinary artist’s practice is the relationship between his body and an object. Roman’s work is inspired by visual art, sports, philosophy, and human labor.
What is success? Is failure a state of mind? Can I find joy and happiness in my struggle? If the object doesn't care that I’ve conquered it—has it truly been defeated?
The performance “Absurd Hero” is an elegant fusion of absurd theatre and circus, infused with Buster Keaton-style humor. A minimalist stage design, scattered with a few red objects, sets the perfect scene for an absurd drama between the artist and a giant ball.
