On June 13, the Rillin Jazz Quartet, a project that unites musicians from Riga and Tallinn, will perform at the MASA jazz club.
The project began in 2003, combining the experience of the Baltic jazz scene and different musical approaches. The concert program will feature their own original compositions, as well as pieces by legendary artists such as Thelonious Monk.
The founders of the project, Jaak Sooaar and Vilnis Kundrāts, are experienced jazz musicians. Jaak Sooaar is one of the most active Estonian jazz guitarists, a teacher and one of the founders of the Estonian Jazz Union. Vilnis Kundrāts, in turn, is known in the Latvian jazz community for his original compositions and active concert activities since the 1990s. This evening they will be joined by bass guitarist Zigismunds Žukovskis and drummer Artis Orubs.
Line-up:
Jaak Sooaar — guitar
Vilnis Kundrāts — tenor saxophone
Zigismunds Žukovskis — bass guitar
Artis Orubs — drums
