As a warm-up to the RE RIGA! festival, Rīgas cirks invites families and children to enjoy Pachamamo, a performance by the clown Cronopio. Before and after the show, visitors can take part in a free orienteering game and try their hand at a range of activities in workshops run by the Riga Circus School.
About the performance
Carrying tricks, music and a whole world of useful and wonderfully useless things in his suitcase, the clown Cronopio arrives in a new, or perhaps strangely familiar, place. He is a traveller with good intentions and not always obedient hands, speaking through humour and tiny clumsy disasters about things children and adults know well. In South American Inca mythology, “Pachamama” means Mother Earth or Mother World. But what is our relationship with her today? As we travel and briefly land elsewhere, do we learn to listen differently? A warm, comic performance about the world we carry with us, and the world that carries us.
