A journey from stardust to the human voice — where choral singing meets electronic sound.
On 14 October at 7 PM, Angāra Concert Hall at Tallinas Street Quarter will host PUTEKĻU CILVĒKS II, featuring the world premiere of a new work by Latvian composer Sniedze Prauliņa, written for voices and electronics.
At the heart of the concert is the human voice — its endless possibilities, its interaction with electronic sounds and the space they create together. From the vastness of the cosmos to the inner world of a human being.
Performing alongside Sniedze Prauliņa are singers Elīna Ose, Inga Martinsone, Agnese Pauniņa and Mārtiņš Zvīgulis, cellist Ēriks Kiršfelds and conductor Pēteris Vaickovskis.
PUTEKĻU CILVĒKS II is part of Riga New Choral Sounds, a platform for new choral music, world premieres and creative collaborations exploring the sound of contemporary choral music in Riga.
Rīga New Choral Sounds continues the idea of the international Riga A Cappella Festival, launched in 2013, in a new format. The festival takes a broader look at choral music, bringing it together with vocal music, contemporary sound, electronics and other forms of modern musical expression. In October 2026, Riga will host a series of concerts, specially created musical projects and professional meetings.
The Riga New Choral Sounds series is supported by the Riga City Council and Angāra Concert Hall.
