On October 3, a trio of Lithuanian musicians will perform a contemporary jazz and post-bop program at the MASA jazz club.
After years of playing together in various ensembles, these three young, energetic musicians have joined forces to make their debut as a jazz trio. A distinctive feature of the group is the absence of a chordal instrument; the music is shaped by the interplay of saxophone, double bass, and drums, creating a raw, spacious, and deeply communicative sound. The program will feature new original compositions in the post-bop style alongside modern arrangements of jazz standards.
Line-up:
Karolis Šarkus (Lithuania) — alto and soprano saxophone
Gediminas Stepanavičius (Lithuania) — double bass
Domantas Razmus (Lithuania) — drums
