Kuras pagājušā gadsimta kontrkultūras idejas ir dzīvotspējīgas šodien - Kino Augusts un Kaņepes Kultūras centrs piedāvā vēsturisko kontrkultūru kino un mūzikas programmu, kurā iepazīstina ar hipiju, panku un metālistu subkultūru ietekmi Padomju savienības krišanā un jaunas sabiedriskās identitātes radīšanā.

20.gs.60-tie gadi atkal ir degpunktā. Tur tiek meklēti aizsākumi parādībām un ideāliem sabiedrībā, kas laika gaitā transformējušies vai pazaudēti. Tas bija “saules aktivitātes laiks”-studentu nemieri Francijā un Vācijā, pretkara demonstrācijas Amerikā, “Prāgas pavasaris”, spilgtas parādības literatūrā, mākslā, kino, “Bītlu”revolūcija popmūzikā…”
Cilvēce ir plaši informēta par procesiem sabiedrībā “brīvajā pasaulē”. Bet viena sestā daļa cilvēces dzīvoja aiz “dzelzs priekškara”Padomju Savienībā, kas pēc Otrā pasaules kara bija nonākusi starptautiskā izolācijā. Filma stāsta par šo laiku Baltijā, Latvijā, Rīgā. Filmas varoņus vieno jaunības bohēmiskā pulcēšanās vieta, neliela beznosaukuma kafejnīca Rīgas vecpilsētā, tautā saukta “Kaza".

Where did the counterculture go? Which ideas from previous century countercultures are sustainable in today's world? Kino Augusts and Kaņepes Kultūras centrs offers a program of historical counterculture portrayal in cinema and music, introducing the role of metal, hippies and punks in the dissolution of the Soviet Union and creation of new public identity.

Once again, the 1960s are in the focus of attention. They have encouraged searches for the origins of phenomena and ideals in the society that have been transformed or lost over time. This film is a story about that time in the Baltics, Latvia, and Riga. Young rebels of 1960s - nonconformists, hippies and beatniks - have turned into a generation of well-known writers, poets, musicians, directors, as well as politicians of the new independent Latvia. The ones who were 18, 20, or 25 in 1960s are half a century older today. The protagonists of the film are united by the bohemian gathering place of their youth, a small nameless cafe in the Old Town of Riga, commonly referred to as "Kaza" (The Goat). This place is surrounded by legends, myths and humorous stories.
