On September 6, MASA Kultūrbārs will host a jazz evening with the Julia Zakirova Trio. The program will feature the musicians’ original compositions alongside well-known jazz standards.
Jūlija Zakirova – vocalist and composer, who recently released her debut solo album Golden Hour. She studied in Dublin and at the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music, has performed at festivals across Europe, and won the Grand Prix at the Sony Jazz Stage competition.
Jānis Pastars – a new-generation guitarist with a vivid sense of improvisation. A graduate of JVLMA, he actively participates in various jazz and popular music projects in Latvia and abroad.
Toms Kursītis – double bassist, who has collaborated with both jazz and popular music artists, including Citi Zēni, Gustavo, Una Daniela, MESA, and Vera Brezhneva.
