On September 4, the MASA jazz club will open the autumn concert season in the hard bop style with the Andrei Polovko quintet.
The quintet's program is centered on the sound of the trombone and tenor saxophone and their special interplay. The repertoire will include pieces from the hard bop era to modern jazz, combining classic compositions with a more modern repertoire. The program includes pieces by Stan Getz, J.J. Johnson, Bob Brookmeyer, Ike Quebec, Benny Golson, Joe Henderson, Kenny Barron, Arturo Sandoval and other jazz masters, as well as swinging rhythms, lyrical melodies and improvisation.
