2025 Latvian instrumental music artist Gints Smukais is coming to the audience with a new concert program, celebrating the release of his third studio album "EKSPRESIJAS 1".
The origins of the musical works can be found in the events experienced over the past five years — the loneliness that reigned during the pandemic, the experiences and concerns about the war in Ukraine, as well as everyday and sometimes amusing moments of life, for example, a chance encounter with a stranger in a grocery store or a love story with a neighbor living behind a wall.
The album title reveals what listeners can expect from the concert. It will feature dynamic and expressive rhythm games, as well as introspective and melancholic melodies. During the concert, Gints will complement the musical experience with stories about his more than ten-year journey in music and personal experiences that inspired the creation of the album.
This album contains compositions that Gints has created over the past five years, embodying in music his feelings about what is happening in the world, as well as his personal experiences and life experiences.
The concert program, in addition to the creations from the album "EKSPRESIJAS 1", will also feature guitar solo arrangements specially created for this program for compositions created by such Latvian composers and artists as Imants Kalniņš, Uldis Marhilevičs, the group Instrumenti and others.
