The performance “Llar” (“home” in Catalan) is a meeting point between architecture and circus art, where the main role is given to the material — wood. At the heart of the performance lies the artist’s search for and creation of a space where one can live, feel safe, and at peace. Responding to current global political events, the juggler constructs and balances wooden elements in a quest for stability. He develops his own language — full of surprises.
“Llar” is the result of long-term research and experimentation, drawing inspiration primarily from various artistic disciplines. It is an original, unique, and innovative performance for audiences of all kinds, addressing contemporary themes through refined juggling technique.
Federico Menini studied architecture and various other arts in countries around the world before turning to contemporary circus. Menini is a multi-talented artist working in sculpture, video art, engraving, photography, art criticism, landscape architecture, and more. He sees the circus as a fascinating multidisciplinary art form where all these talents can come together.
Federico Menini’s “Oyun” was presented at the RE RĪGA! festival in 2023.
