Mountain peaks, the Italian way of life and lifelong friendships converge in Eight Mountains. Winner of the Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival, it is based on the bestselling novel by Italian writer Paolo Conzetti. Pietro, from Milan, spends his holidays in the foothills of the mountains in north-west Italy. There he meets the dashing adventurer Bruno. Over the years, Bruno remains faithful to his mountain, but Pietro comes and goes. Pietro and Bruno learn about love and loss, remember their roots and discover what it means to be true friends for life.
