As part of Riga Art Week the concert on May 31 highlights the emotional depth, melodic freedom, and individual expression characteristic of the Romantic era in art, while also showing how these qualities continue to resonate in today’s music.
The program is conceived as a dialogue between past and present — between the time of Chopin and Liszt and contemporary compositions in which the aesthetics of Romanticism are reimagined through a modern sound. This is an opportunity to hear how music transcends temporal boundaries, inspiring jazz and popular music composers and becoming a living stream of ideas and emotions.
Performers:
Santa Kauliņa — piano
Ilva Bāliņa — violin, viola
