On November 21, the ensemble Bille! will perform a concert program titled A Tribute to Latvian Jazz Themes at the MASA jazz club.
The evening will be dedicated to the legacy of Latvian jazz composers, as compiled in Indriķis Veitners' book Latviešu džeza tēmas ("Latvian Jazz Themes"). As the members of the ensemble state: "Playing this music is not just about showing respect; it is also about keeping it alive and introducing it to listeners who have not yet heard it." The group invites the audience to explore the roots of Latvian jazz, its key figures and musical traditions, which continue to inspire generations.
